This Land is Your land

There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me;
Sign was painted, it said private property;
But on the back side it didn’t say nothing;
That side was made for you and me.

In the squares of the city, In the shadow of a steeple;
By the relief office, I’d seen my people.
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking,
Is this land made for you and me?

    Isn’t the federal government the largest landowner in the US?

    YoungNJ: And your point is?
    I consider federal lands to be held in trust for all Americans. A lot of the land also is utilized by ranchers (BLM land mostly), lumber companies, mining companies, and parks for tourists. You would prefer that all land be open to development of “luxury condos”, strip malls, etc.? What a nightmare that would be. As it is, when developers get involved with government (Xanaudu) they cause nightmares. Have you seen The Record’s series on Xanadu? Another Encap?
