Obama Falls into Bush Iran Trap

Obama speaks at Harrisburg Pa. campaign rally

A must read essay by Chris Hedges (a NJ resident). If you care about nothing else, just consider the fact that if we or Israel attack Iran, gas prices more than double. Bush is hell bent on bombing Iran – or green lighting Israel to do so.
The Iran Trap
By Chris Hedges
The failure by Barack Obama to chart another course in the Middle East, to defy the Israel lobby and to denounce the Bush administration’s inexorable march toward a conflict with Iran is a failure to challenge the collective insanity that has gripped the political leadership in the United States and Israel.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama on screen receives applause during his address before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference 2008 in Washington.

Obama, in a miscalculation that will have grave consequences, has given his blessing to the widening circle of violence and abuse of the Palestinians by Israel and, most dangerously, to those in the Bush White House and Jerusalem now plotting a war against Iran. He illustrates how the lust for power is morally corrosive. And while he may win the White House, by the time he takes power he will be trapped in George Bush’s alternative reality.

Kissing AIPAC’s tookus is just part of the primary season much like kissing a baby’s cheek in a rope line. At least that’s what I’m going to believe so I can continue my support of Obama. Truth be told I don’t like the sound of saber rattling even a little bit. Not being an equal champion of the oppressed Palestinians is a concern I have of Obama.

    You’re right again, Bill.
On top of that, N. Korea has a cheap bomb available anytime. So does Pakistan. Worse, Pakistan has re-instated the crazy scientist who disperses plans to the Moslem world about nukes.
In sum, the “bomb” will go off but will be ‘purloined’ from a country that already has nuclear obliteration capability. Attacking Iran is just plain DUMB. God help us.

Yet, look at the ad on the right side of the screen. I like McCain better than most Republicans but what is his campaign staff trying to say? That Obama looks like what’s his face from Iran? More than a little racist I say.
