It’s a Big Ol’ Goofy World (seasonal messages)

“You know old trees just grow stronger, and old rivers grow wilder every day”

oldriver

If you lie like a rug,

and you don’t give a damn.

You’re never gonna be,

as happy as a clam.  ~~~ John Prine (listen)

Songs and meaning from the man who did Sam Stone and

In Spite of Ourselves and

Angel From Montgomery and

Hello In There and

The Great Compromise and

Illegal Smile and

My Old Man.

Hey kids, I don’t think there are any more meaningful  Easter messages to be had.

    Hey Bill – love your selection of John Prine tunes. Here’s one of my favorites:

    Blow up the TV!Throw away the papers! Move to the Country – build us a home.

    @Tom McKee

    Hey Tom – that’s one of mine too! I’ve got a studio version of it on a greatest hits CD. A little too subversive of the Easter message? Hahahahaha!

    I’m done with the papers and TV, live in the country, my garden sucks (more weeds than veggies) but eating peaches and finding Jesus – not so much!
