Just realized I haven’t posted photos for a long time – been wonking out – so here’s a few since we last wrote.

Maybe in a post tomorrow, we’ll fill in the gap from the Tetons across the Cascades (in British Columbia) and out onto the Olympic Peninsula & Puget Sound.

With mixed feelings, we left Port Townsend this week, after a little over a month there. We departed with the Wooden Boats.

Bounced south down Puget Sound, spent a few nights in Olympic National Forest – saw some dastardly clearcuts:

so glad to see this breakdown

so glad to see this breakdown – this was a sham “thinning” operation

the slops were over 60 degrees. Clearcut went for for about a linear mile, 300 - 400 yards up the slope.

Hey Gov. Inslee – WTF? Those trees sequester tons of carbon. Shut it down, dude!

We then stopped in Olympia for the day, and saw the Capitol, the farmers market, downtown, and the port:

Security guards assisted our visit. No way could we pull this stunt in Trenton.
